For those using a "Battery Tender" brand. Are you using the Battery Tender Jr. or the Battery Tender Plus?

The dealership installed a Battery Tender Jr. pigtail and included the tender with the Spyder at no charge. After connecting the pigtail the technician simply routed it straight upward an out the top of the battery cover door. In 62K+ miles and some absolutely hellacious rain storms I have never gotten so much as a drop of water into the frunk. The pigtail sits popping through the zipper ready to plug into the battery tender.

I have a follow-up question to the installation of a battery tender for Winter storage. Is there a reason to place a surge suppressor in the line between the tender and the electrical grid? My question isn’t as much about the battery but the damage to the bikes electrical system. I’m not sure if the tenders have a suppressor in the unit, if the spyders fuses will deal with it or if it is needed at all.

I have mine under the seat on the left hand side. It doubles as a hookup for my heated vest

Nothing to worry about that. We're only talking about amps here, not volts...….

2018 RTL Frunk
I have the 2018 RTL with Frunk liner/zipper. Mine did not come with a rubber gasket around the top lip where the liner folds over. Anyone else have this set-up or was it accidently left off. Haven't had it out in heavy rain yet, so I'm not sure if it will leak.

I know this is an old post, but it was exactly what I needed to see when I was trying to figure out how to get my tender connection into the frunk. (I'm in the slow class.) Thanks for posting and helping me discover what was probably obvious to anyone with a brain. Works great! (This suggestion, not my brain...)
