Trouble free spyders
Guys, I have only been a member of Spyderlovers for a short time. All I read everyday is problems with people's Spyder, such as vibration, poor handling, fumes in gas tank, over heating, burning up due to problems, hot foot on right side, computer problems, etc!
Does anyone have a Spyder that has been trouble free for several thousands of miles?
I feel bad after reading all the posting of problems, it makes me want to go buy me a riding motorcycle!
So if your is trouble free, please post and let me know!
Thanks

There are heaps of Spyders out there with no problems.
Some models had issue (a) for some people, some had issue (b) etc. It's not as if all models had all problems, by any means.
Husband's F3S hasn't missed a beat in 20k kilometres.
My 13 ST Ltd, once it got the airflow panels, ditto, 30k km.
My 09 RS, no problems, just added a $100 spyderpops heat management kit, 20k km.
We both rode 2 wheels for decades, and don't regret switching - wouldn't go back for quids.

trouble free
hi I have a 2009 rs I got it about 2and a half years ago with 2300 miles on it, it now has 19200 and other than things I caused (HID upgrade caused a computer issue ) it has been an awesome machine. the 1 thing I will say is that Farkling is an addiction. HID's, LED's ( headlights and illumination under the bike ) exhaust, engine performance upgrades and the list goes on. enjoy some years are better than others but all in all your car may have more issues than the bike

I put over 44,000 miles on my 2008 GS. I have over 7000 on the F3 and no trouble whatsoever with the 1330. Hasn't lost a drop of oil since I bought it. Only had one issue with the belt tension on the GS but that was a few years back. I love this F3.
Very Happy Spyder Guy
The 2015 F3 has over 46,000 miles

riding for 60 years
I am 72 yrs old, and Have been riding since I started with Allstate scooters at about 12 years old! I have owned about every brand you want to ride. Yamaha Roadstars are almost bullet proof, Honda"s are great, had 5 or 6 Harleys, but this spyder site still scares me. You can get a lemon in any brand, hope my spyder is not one of them! Good riding and be safe! Hope to see you at the rally in Maggie's Valley!

Trouble free spyders
My wifes GS SE5 has been a delight to own. Had one problem early on dealer corrected and it has never been in the shop since. 25,000 miles!
Sometimes minor problems are just that, but with the web it has the ablity to grow.
Ask questions, visit the forums, the information is valuable and for the most part free.
Good Luck

I don't know if 3K qualifies as several thousand, but my 2015 RT-S has been a dream DESPITE my constant fears that she's not built for the horrendously bumpy, stony roads that I must ryde on. She rattles like a bucket of plastic, but has so far soldiered on. It's the nature of the forum beast to post concerns and requests for problem solutions, so I'd bet that if you visited the forums of any of the other leaners, they'd scare ya, too!

I have had two, well one and working on the second one with no problems other than me! The first was a 2008 GS purchased used and I put over 10k miles no troubles. Traded for a 2015 ST 30 days ago, passed the 2500 mile mark and no problems either. Do I enjoy riding carefree out in the National Forest, freeways, town and country? You bet!! Take care of it like a fine machine that they are and it will take care of you. Are their some out there with problems? I'm sure there are as with any machine made by man. Love mine!!

I've Had Some Issues, BUT
Still put 21,000 miles on my Spyder in 14 months. Had a few repairs done: broken windshield lifter twice, flush needed for transmission.
Oh, and the battery. Batteries! When I bought it, used, I knew it needed a new battery. Took it to the dealership and got another (OEM, I guess). It lasted a few months. Because I park on the street, can't leave the battery tender on.
So this time, I get one of the 2 year guarantee gel battery things and decide to install it myself.
The guys at the shop were not amused.
The rest was just farkling and maintenance. Highway pegs, oil changes, new tire, Laser Alignment, next week new brake shoes.
I've always found the fairly easy to handle, but after that Squared Away Laser Alignment, I think it's purring at me when we hit the road.
Spyders are not cheap, but I'm finding mine well worth it.

Have a 2015 RT-S and 2 minor problems.Had to replace water pump that had a very smal leak but under warrenty and the cluster lens that looked like it had water drops on the inside.I would ride this thing across the country and not worry about it.
