I had an MRI done and didn't realize I had some change in my back pocket. The tech should have asked me, and I should have known better. It was one of those late night ones, 10:45pm.
It was the strangest sensation....every time it would do its thing, I could feel the coins vibrating or something....it was uncomfortable, but not unbearable.
I don't like MRI's....all I can think about when in that tube is if there is a fire, I'm gonna die! Lol

    Default Yikes...!!

Well at least any magnetic materials. But they run no risks and have you remove all metals. There were stories of old tatoos with inks that contained iron and especially junk jewlery which is gold plated metals of different types. it is impressive...

I heard that you could not make it if you any stents in your heart. Like getting shot from the inside out.

Luckily the titanium in my knees and hip aren't ferrous, and the screws in my ankle are stainless steel. Still I really hate MRI's, I made the mistake of opening my eyes after I went in head first and thought I was gonna die.

Just had a pacemaker implanted 3 weeks ago, and I was told it is very important to stay away from magnets.

    Good stuff to think about.

I am the recent recipient of five stents and then a pacemaker. I was given warning cards to present every time I go to the dentist or a doctor.

The pacemaker is supposed to be MRI compatible, but we will see what happens the next time I need an MRI. Just another adventure?

I used to have to disconnect from my insulin pump, and leave it out where the technicians hide all of their paperclips...
Now with the Blood Glucose Transmitter: I'm not able to strip all of the hardware off... no MRIs for me!

Not true, stents are platinum and not affected.

How appropriate. Watched part of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek last night. That was one of the movies.

    Steel?
I remember when I was trying to choose which infusion set to use...
I went with "Soft-Set QRs", because of the quick release feature.
I used them for 16 years, and FINALLY used up my stockpiled supply () four years after they were discontinued.
I just (3 sets ago...) changed over to the "Quick-Sets", and have started to like them...

They both used a Teflon infusion tube...
