? What happened to make you notice? It looks bad but added info will help, I see aftermarket hitch the bolt looks bit thin to be the rear axel bolt but maybe a hitch bolt that goes thru? Are things bent & clanking around? Your belt looks to be on track enough. More info please. (Did you instal hitch yourself??)

When you put it together, if possible, put a jam nut on it, if you can't do that, use blue Loctite.

    Default axel bolt

I have never had the axel bolt off my RTS - but have changed many other wheels on many other brands, and NEVER saw any axel bolt that small. The Picture looks like it 3/8 inch. Just can not believe such a small axel nut - for that amount of weight, wheel width, and torque. Going out now, to look at mine.

That looks like the hitch bolt to me. The axel shaft is much thicker on my 11 RTS

    Default Wow...!

close call... push the bolt back through and check the threads and get a lock nut if it does not have a cotter pin hole. You might have the belt checked when possible looks to be running to far to the middle. If you back her up and stop and check its positon and it has not changed your good if it walks off a bit on the sproket it needs to be adjusted...

That's just a bolt for your hitch. The big nut for your axel is still in place. Had your axel come out that far while you were driving you'd be calling a tow truck and maybe an ambulance.

That is the through the axle bolt that keeps the attachment plates for that aftermarket hitch in place. You'll need a flat, lock and the nut takes a 17mm wrench. Put blue locktite on the threads and snug it down with your hand on the shaft of the wrench, not the end of it. There are no official torque specks for this aftermarket hitch.

The axle bolt for the rear axle is 150 ft pounds of torque.

You will also want to replace the pointy end allen head set screws on the bottom of those brackets with a hex head 8mm bolt that is twice the length of the set screws.

Keep an eye on your hitch when towing for up and down movement or play; if found will need to shim those attachment plates for your hitch.

Get a green manual on line for your maintenance needs, will be priceless to help you through your tinkering.

That is NOT the main axle bolt! If it was, trust you would not have been going anywhere.

That is the trailer hitch bolt that goes through the main axle bolt. Chances are whoever installed it when they put the nut on the other side they did not get the cotter pin through the bolt. Thus the hitch bolt nut came off.

It appears to be the thru bolt for aftermarket trailer hitch, looks like mine which is by show chrome. If it is it doesn't use a cotter pin, just has a big washer and nut and you tighten it down. I use blue locktight in those situations. safe riding!

It is the hitch bolt. The nut on the right side must have vibrated loose. Gotta be really tight.
