Nice write up..... but a few things I disagree about:
1. The F3 can easily do a sub-4 0-60 run as could my 2008 GS.
2. While the Spyder and SS might be the most popular reverse trikes, there are more HD trikes than SS for sure.. maybe even more than Spyders... especially if you include conversions.
I too consider the SS much more of a car than a bike and other than the reverse wheel configuration I see nothing they have in common.
The SS is kinda cool, but simply not the same as riding a Spyder or any other motorcycle.
Enjoy both!

Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Oh... and get the BRP belt tensioner for your F3. It's better and far cheaper than the aftermarket ones.

Remember the Isetta, a 3 wheeled CAR, but it did have doors.
I think big business Polaris just pulled one off.

It had A door, singular. Let's see, no power (12 hp?), zero safety (gas tank directly behind the driver IN the "car"), sliding windows, etc. Cool looking but other than that pretty worthless, IMHO.

Good article. I also have a Slingshot and a Ryker. A year ago, I had an 18 RT, before that I had an 11 RT. I loved the 18, but had nothing but trouble with it, had it right at one year, and it was in shop first 6 months. Left handlebar cluster went out, messed up computer, had to have both replaced. Park brake locked up I don’t know how many times, thought I had everything finally fixed, went to Maggie Valley, and thought I was going to have to have it hauled back on rollback wrecker, pully on engine started coming loose. Limped it home. I liked both RTs, but lost confidence in them. Rented a slingshot in Maggie Valley, and wife thought it was the cat’s meow. When we got back, we went looking at them. Traded RT for one. Like originally stated, they’re different, we both like it a lot, for touring and going longer distances in. Something was missing though, it wasn’t a motorcycle. About 4 months ago, I started looking at Rykers, too old for 2 wheels. I got a 2020, 600, now I feel I have the best of both worlds, a slingshot for touring with wife, and something for just me, to take out for a couple hours of wind therapy in the country side, and around town for errands.

I think the Slingshots look cool and would probably be a great 2nd toy but I doubt I'd fit in one. I'm fat and I carry. Between the 2, I can't seem my fat arse fitting in the seat. OTOH, I've never even sat in one so I could be wrong.

Great review I enjoyed it alot.
just to throw a wrench into the works would you consider this to be a motorcycle?

Hear the 2020's have more room. I know I like to try one out one day.

I wanted to look at them before buying the RT, but the wife looked at the pics and said she'd have too much trouble getting in and out of it so we didn't bother. She picked the passenger seat of the RT over the F3 so that's what we have.
