Why buy an F3 and then make it into an RT? I really don't see the point in all that!

Is anyone else having trouble with the accessory site? I can't find the new top case or much of anything else on the site right now? If anyone is getting further than I, how about a part number for the case?
Edit, nevermind, I found it in the build and price. PN 219400732. Still not sure what's up with the accessory site...

LOL, Bob, I have the patience of a gnat. That said, I just went out and looked under my back seat. I found what appears to be the speaker outputs for the top case speakers. I may have one in the future...

Well, that's full retail. Lots of internet dealers will do 20% off plus free shipping. Still pricey but better... Plus, it's not just the storage. You get the passenger backrest and the two rear speakers too...

I sure hope not. I could not imagine going back to a bike that handled that poorly.....
While I think the option is a bit pricy, I really like the idea of a trunk that can be added for long weekends or week long trips but removed for most around town use. We may end up with one for Louise new F3-T if they come prepainted for the price mentioned less normal discounts.

Changed the rear sprocket to a smaller size. Less low end but more top end if I understand correctly.

Changing the rear sprocket would not effect HP output. No different than on a car or truck. Gearing has no effect on HP or Torque, only their delivery.

Correct me if I am wrong, but does this mean the 2017 F3L will come with the top case as part of the standard package (not am additional option)?
The 2017 F3L seem like the way to go......

Not defensive at all but thanks for being concerned for my feelings. The F3T and F3L have not been de-rated according to CanAm's website. Still 115. Those are "the facts." The new listed rating for the F3 base makes no sense but maybe someone will find out what's different. And, since this thread was started to comment on the new top case on the F3L, and hence the thread is about a 2017 F3L, then "the facts" are as I stated. The HP has not changed.

That is correct, it comes with it. However, it might not be the way to go for someone wanting all the other options or someone who doesn't like all the chrome that comes with the limited... I personally wouldn't go Limited as I want a manual shift machine.

the t and limited are the 117 hp! don't know why the reduction in the f3 entry.

115 actually. The F3S is also still at 115. This is why it makes no sense on the base.

So they lowered the HP on the base F3, added the top case as standard on the F3L?
Maybe they're just trying to differentiate the four F3 models from each other.

The F3 and RT, especially if you've owned both, are quite different machines. So, let's say there are things about the RT which don't particularly work for you, and you find the F3 has some, um, endearing characteristics, so much so that one just happens to worm its way under your garage door.
So far, so good, right? But you want more wind protection and more luggage carrying potential since you want more than just a Sunday afternoon ride. Adding saddlebags and a top box gets you there, with best of both worlds. Pretty simple, really.
