Question 2016 F3 T Digital RPM showing 1k less RPM than the guage

I noticed while riding last weekend the digital rpm and rpm gauge were about 1000 rpm off from each other. The gauge was showing higher and felt and sounded like it was running a bit rougher. Anyone able to provide any suggestions of what to look into for this? Oil level is good, fluids are all good. not sure what else to check. Thanks in advance.

If I was kidding I wouldnt be asking. I bought it used and spent a lot of money on it. Want to make sure my investment isnt going to die on me owning it less than a year.

Are you aking about the engine running rough or how to fix the difference between the gauges?

You could try visiting your local/friendly motorcycle shop (not necessarily a BRP Dealer) and seeing if they have an 'old school' electronic Tach they can connect up - they might need to go off the plug leads to get a good signal, cos AFAIK the 1330's have 'not so old school' coil packs on each plug; but they should be able to get a 'true' (or maybe that should be 'real'?? ) RPM reading that way which you can then compare to what your Dash digital & analogue gauges are saying.

The bad news about this issue is that I'm pretty sure that both the Dash readings are derived from one & the same computer pulse signal, so if there's a difference between them showing on the Dash, you've probably got a Dash problem! And from what I've heard/experienced, BRP fixes most of those types of issues by replacing the entire Dash.... and in doing so, re-setting the mileage shown by the odometer to zero, but if you're lucky the Dealer/BRP will issue you with a certificate of the original (now lost) mileage that will help you try to prove that you aren't actually trying to defraud anyone if you ever try to sell or insure the Spyder!!

    Good Luck!

Run it up to the redline and see which one reads accurately.

First, find out which one is incorrect. Get a third digital gage that will connect to either the coil or have an inductive pickup from a coil wire. Disregard the one that does not comply. Neither gage is adjustable. As far a running rough, compare yours to another F3. Your F3 is new to you, so you need to develope a baseline of how it performs.
