Spyder 2015 RT Driver backrest and seat issues
When installing a OEM drivers backrest on my new RT two out of the four nuts buried in the seat broke loose when I was screwing in the torx head screws. I went to my dealer and they submitted a claim to replace the seat with CanAM which was rejected because they determined that I used the wrong tool. How they determined that I don't have a clue. I called CanAm today at 888-272-9222 and was given the standard answer and when I wanted to appeal to a higher manager they said no. I am really disappointed in their customer service. I called back multiple times trying to reach a different person but had no luck.
Any suggestions of where I can go now? Anyone have a different number or resource within Canam?

That's the point, you can only use a torx bit to screw in the torx head screws. That is what I used. How Canam Technical Resource can determine I used the wrong tool from a desk in Canada seems presumptive.

The screws actually went in 1/2 way so they weren't cross threaded but the screws came with locktite already on them. Once the screw went in that far is when I had the problem, only with two of the four screws.

I thought you were being funny .
As far as communicating with Canam I can't get past the initial person on the call. They refuse to pass it onto another supervisor, manager or to the technical person who made the decision to reject my claim.

Have you tried kicking through the information in here yet?

Sorry: We don't know what numbers you've been trying to call.
Try contacting BRPcare... They're a member in here.

I had the exact same problem. I removed the seat and cut a little bit of plastic out by the nuts. I then slipped a large screwdriver in against the nut and I was able to tighten it down!!

RELATED TO THIS ISSUE
Awhile back I looked into re-placing the plastic pieces with the threaded inserts ( which the OP is talking about ) that are in the SEAT PAN !!! ..... and as far as I can find they DON'T EXIST as a separate purchasable PART ..... Soooooooooooo if you break one or lose one ( or more ) ( and they are used elsewhere ) you are out of luck ...............UNLESS SOMEONE HERE ....KNOWS THE PART NUMBER ?????? ......Mike ..........................I think I may have found the part# while looking for something else #269500725 - nut housing assembly - I'll have to check the thread size ( because it doesn't indicate on the parts list )

All good stuff, thanks.
Russ, sorry you had the same problem but it's nice to know I am not the only one.
