Prior to 2014 the RT analog gauges were worthless, they tended to bounce and they didn't give you a good idea of how much fuel you really had. The gas gauge on the 14 and newer are pretty darn accurate.

I just disconnected mine (gas gauge). I got tired of it reading EMPTY when I knew it wasn't
. ONE to many times I fill up and I fill up with 4 gallons when I know there is 2 plus gallons still in the Tank! I would watch my mileage anyway, but it got old seeing the gas light go one and I would have 2 gallons still in there. You would think a 30k bike would have a better gauges.

I replaced both my gages with ram mounts for my GPS and phone.
