SO I would try fishing out the the wire on the factory kill switch and splicing in a set of points from an old points type ignition then separate the points with a piece of leather with a strap to your wrist. Almost fool proof and should pass tech at least it has for years. All the flat trackers had this kind of dead man switch. Good luck with your endeavor.

Doesn't Ski Doo offer tethers for their snowmobiles?
(They even have their own DESS system)
Perhaps you can find something in their catalog, that can be adapted for your use.
