Default Getting a new key made?

I was thinking about getting an additional key made. The only thing I want this additional key to do is open the frunk. My reason for this is I have the Lamonster Garage IPS key holder on my normal key. However, being that it is pretty bulky is isn't the best option for sticking the key in your pocket while walking around somewhere. I thought if I get another key made I could just put the IPS key holder key in the frunk and put the newly cut key in my pocket. I don't want to use my spare BRP key just in case I actually need it someday for the Spyder itself.

Will doing this mess with anything on the Spyder? I know the keys have chips in them, but I didn't know if all I did was open the frunk with a non-chip key while the Spyder was off would cause any issues?

Great idea. That's exactly what I plan on doing.

Yes that will work just fine. For a blank you can use a X270 or ZD24RDP-SI.

I just had to get a new ket today. I lost one last week. My wife always has the spare in her purse. It was not very costly for the key, key cutting, and programing, under $50 all together. I was thinking about the same think. I need to by a key holder now!!

Fyi the X270 is right chipless key blank made by Ilco a blank key supplier that most shops use. Ask for the ilco X-270 mortocycle blank or show them your key so they get ide of shape. Better yet https://mykeyport.com. image.jpg
& you can have both oem keys as spares. The chipless is handy & cheep too. & I carry few blanks to give to spyder buds as we may meet.
