Oil Change Issue
A short while back I changed the oil on my 14 RT. I added back exactly the amount BRP calls for. Since that time when I park the bike over night, there will be a small oil spot on the driveway. I checked around both oil plugs--clean and dry. Checked around the oil filter, same deal. Can't figure out where the oil is coming from. It is a little over full on dipstip so I am going to remove some oil and see if that will help. Any ideas on where the oil is leaking?

Get engine degreaser & spray the underbody panels around the drain holes. Chances are just drips from.

The pans under the drain plugs on a 2014 RT tend to get oil on them when you change your oil
They will drip a spot or two every time you park
Mine dripped for almost two weeks even though I tried to clean them
I removed those pans the last time I changed the oil and did not put them back

Also the "book" is wrong, they tell you to add too much. Take out a little.

Let's see....
If you added the whole amount suggested you more than likely over filled it and blew some up to the air box. Manual does say add three qts run engine check and add as needed.

Add back 5 Qts even on the SE6 after draining oil and filter change..
Then some add 4 oz more to get it to the FULL bead on the dipstick. I never add more than 5 Qts until I come back from a 100 mile plus ride to make sure that the oil is hot and distributed. Then let idle on a flat garage slab for 5 plus minutes or until the fan cycles on... that's how I do it... seems to work for us.

I took the bottom plastic covers off while changing the oil. This was my first change and I wanted to see what I was doing. I am sure it is not leaking around drain plugs. The leak is under the left side so the air filter box theory sounds reasonable. Would this ruin the air filter if oil was blown into air box?

This is where the fun of rolling around the garage floor comes in. If you get down there and look where the engine drain plug is, left side, you can see there is a frame member opening just aft of the drain plug that oil can collect in when you loosen the plug. Stuff a rag in that opening and if it comes out oily, I'll bet you've found your problem. Next time you change the oil, plug the opening before loosening the plug. Shawn Smoak explains the problem here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPeb...ature=youtu.be.
