Does anyone know who.......
Makes tires in a 225/50r15 ??????????? I do not want a kenda, or a kumho I would like a car tire if I can find one.
Just askin'............
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............

Kumho Ecsta is a car tire. Why would you reject that choice?

Had one, got 12K out of it, and was impressed with the durability. The only thing that was not as good, in my opinion, was the wet traction. I had a toyo that had great wet traction but I got about 8K out of it. Would probably choose the toyo again if I could find it.

Best tires I've had were Toyo Proxes T1R. Absolutely fantastic grip even in the rain, cold roads, etc. Even though it's not supposed to be a winter tire it performed really well. Only issue was like you mention they wear relatively quickly but to me thats fine because of the performance.
I couldn't get one this time so had to settle for a Toyo Proxes 4 instead. That wasn't so good for the first 100km but settled in well now. Did very well on my last ride of 1100km of cold, sometimes icey, roads (winter here:-)) . Haven't tried it in the rain yet but it's supposedly got a better rating than the T1R in the wet.

Because its a low end tire with poor traction and worse wet road traction. Many folks actually want top tier tires. Not bargain brands.
Yokohama S-Drive 205/55 15. The real world diameter is exactly the same as the stock Kenda. Width is within 3/16 but it has better traction and high speed stability. This is the tire we recommend and install in our shop.

Toyo Proxes4
I live in the NW WA and get lots of rain. The Toyo Proxes4 has proven to be a good tire on both wet and dry pavement. When it's time to re-tire I'll buy another one.
