Squeaky belt?
I've been researching the squeaky belt issue and ran across a post that mentioned the original "squeaky belt' for the 998, and a revised belt that I guess was more quiet. Anyone have any info on this?

Don't know. ..!!
What I do remember is the solution was to put a dolup (pea size) on the center rear sprocket and walla... belt was quiet. Now I do not know if it works my 2012 RS has not had this issue. Unless that tid bit about an improved belt is true and they are not paying for it .... go for the grease bit....

About the grease...I know the service guide says to use a certain BRP grease, but I am using a Valvoline synthetic grease on mine. It seems to work for a week or so, and then the squeaks come back. What type of grease is everyone using?

The grease thing works on our RT, I use a synthetic disc brake grease, very small amount.

How often do you have to grease it? It seems like mine lasts for about a week or so, then I need to redo it.

grease
i have a 2012 rt limited and had this noise on the left side, just on acceleration. i got kinda worried so i took it to the dealer and a mechanic came out with a finger full of white grease, put it on the belt and noise was gone. i asked what it was and he said a special grease that brp has just for this problem. i asked if i could buy a tube and he said its $150.
i said thanks a lot and left.

Is the noise a bird like chirping? mine is doing that and I thought it was belt noise but didn't know what to do about it.

That's it.. do the "Grease Thing", and it'll shut them up.
