    Default Flooded RT-L - update

Water was about 4 foot deep in my brothers garage. Poor Spyder. He had someone come to pick it up and take it to his dealer (Conroe, TX). But remember that the parking brake is on!! Bob turned the key on - lights came on - instrument panel did its normal 'stuff' and came to a halt for a normal engine start. He released the brake - warning horn sounded for about 20 seconds and went out. All normal!! Bike is at the dealer now.

Fingers crossed. As I told him, now might be the time to order a custom seat!

    So far... so good!
Thanks for the update! Have the waters starting to recede now?

What a mess you all have been dealing with. I hope the sun comes out and the rains go away.

Sorry to hear about this. Suggest that you call the insurance CO. If it was submerged it will never be right. If it was my bike I'd fight to have it totaled and replaced. Just my 2 cents.

    Default Sorry to hear

Sorry to hear about the RTL in Conroe. I too would hope for a total loss. Can't tell for sure but does this look like a flooded spyder in Lubbock, Texas? This was yesterday morning in Lubbock in a Lowes parking lot. I know there's a dealership there.

    Default Well....

Gotta say motorcycles are not like cars. I have brought back many that were submerged and they were good as before. If you can get it replaced by all means do so but if not and from what you said your ahead of the game if the electric are still working. Hope your dealer is a good one cause the next steps are the important ones. Lived over there a couple times and did that kind of work there and in california.

    Default Follow up

Just to clarify - bike is not mine -- it is my brother's bike. I'm high and dry here in E Texas. Rain yesterday and again in the forecast for today. Roads have been dry at my brothers house, but hope that the local creek stays in its banks. No insurance on the Spyder except normal liability. His flood insurance dude is scheduled to visit him today - and once FEMA gets the word that it is declared a Disaster Area, they are ready to help as well. Funny - brother is in the same motel as the FEMA gang - can take care of paperwork at Happy Hour.

While I hope he gets back on the road soon, I really hope all of you have roads to get back onto soon.
