    Default 2009 RS braking

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've been on here.... I had a question about braking with my RS. When I apply the foot brake when braking I really have to press on it for the bike to stop. Is this normal? The brake pedal is not sponge I really have to press hard for it to stop. The bike has 6000 miles on it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.... Thanks Andy

Have you tried pumping the brake a couple of times? If yes, does the brake get firmer?

you do have to put a lot of pressure on the pedal earley spyders don't have nearly as powerful feeling brakes as most other street bikes

Thank you for all the reply's I just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong. I just installed a brake pedal extender which help a lot. Now I don't have to press down as far. Thanks again...

    Default Little checking..

A quick cleaning of the discs would help and if your still feeling its not right a light sanding on the pads would make sure you don't have anything on there causing you to have to brake so hard. I have an RS 2012 and the brakes feel normal but it was nine years off bikes wihen I got her....
