Can someone help me out? Getting ready to face another year without riding on a 2008 where is the vcm located?

    Default Little checking..

Not sure and don't have a shop manual handy..the VCM (vehicle contro module) is most related to the VSS (vehicle stability system) . Not knowing the problem what comes to mind is that work may have been done to the front end alignments or such and the Yaw rate sensor or angle sesonsor was not reset properly. Do you have any codes or other information...??

It's in limp home mode, when checked by mechanic, he cleared the codes and they popped right back up. He stated it was the vcm, it's coding vss and abs faults also

Have them price out a VCM for you, and then you'll know what you want to do about it.
    Good luck!

I would be very sure the VCM is actually the culprit before I replaced it. If you replace it and that does not resolve the problem it's not going to be a happy ending.

Ok hubby went out and check it, Abs, Vss, and ebd faults are scrolling. He pulled the codes up and it showed 0c0020. Only problem with taking it to local shop is they aren't a canam mechanic, they only hook it up to computer and tell me what it says! No close canam mechanic. I am in extreme sw va

If you hit BRP's Spyder Website, they'll find the closest dealer to you...
It's worth making a call to a qualified shop.

Might want to put it on a trailer and take it to Winston-Salem or Knoxville. There are some good dealers in those areas. (From what I have been told.)

I've had very good service at the Winston-Salem dealership. My 3rd Spyder, all serviced there. Phone #336-765-0330. Kevin is the service manager and Steve is the mechanic. Good luck with your Spyder.

My wife’s 2012 RT displayed codes relating to the VCM.
The manual said they rarely break down.
I tried to fix it using sheer force of will.

    It was the VCM pump.
    Expensive.
9K miles, BRP would do nothing.
I bit the bullet and had it replaced.

Honda of Winston Salem is my dealer, and although I have not had to take Cocaine there for any warrantee work, they have done a fine job on putting my Kumho rear tire on, and my 3000 mile checkup. Reasonable rates also.

I would also make sure the Battery is fully charged as it can also cause "dummy" fault codes to appear.
I had exactly this when I had my 2008

In case you haven't seen it, this thread gives you some idea of what the thing is and where it is, and troubleshooting info. And a member you could try to contact about their issue. But as stated, they rarely fail.

As others have said, you're probably better off spending the money to trailer it to a good dealership than throwing parts at it on your own.
