Ref: 2013 RTSE5 - going for a DIY oil and filter change
I tried searching but didn't find what I needed. Sorry, if this is an old topic.
I started taking off side panels for an oil change and got to the step to remove the plate under the oil tank. However I see there is a plastic panel under that plate. I haven't jacked the Spyder up yet, but I looked underneath as best as I could and felt for bolts, etc.
My question is, how is that panel removed. The service manual says nothing about it that I can find.
Also, is the 2013 panel one piece or two? I found a post with a two piece panel, but it didn't say what year/model it was for.

The plastic panel is held in place by 2 plastic rivets that push into the side of the frame and a nut and bolt that holds it and the lower panel just ahead of the oil tank. It is much easier if you have spidey high enough in the air to be able to crawl under it. I cut out a small section of that panel so that I could remove the engine drain plug with the panel in place. Otherwise by the time you get all the Tupperware and that panel off the oil has cooled and the contaminants have settled again. At least that's what I'm thinkin.

Thanks.
My plan was to get everything off, take her for a ride and warm up the oil, then get it in the air and drain the oil.
