Really Disappointed
I ordered and got my blank key from BRP----I have been running around both Saturday and Sunday(5 different places), and can find no one/place that can cut the key for me. They all have the computer--die cutting machines, basicly for autos---poor guys try , but there is no fit---they ground one of their blanks at Lowe's, but got home---tried it, and it would not go into the ignition. Where can I go----to whom can I go to get the grinding/cutting done? The BRP blank key costs $30, and would like to have it right. Do I have to send my second key and the blank to BRP in Canada to get it done? I've a second concern: I can start a new "Thread" on this forum, but when I post a reply to any one (done it carefully) it never shows up----Am I one of those who've been labled a "mole or spy?" Or, is it my laptop that hates me?

Sara,
This is horrible. Is there a BRP number you can call tomorrow or can anyone provide such a number?
The process for key replacement should be easier than you having to do all the work.

Have you tried going to a locksmith? They should be able to cut it for you.

I would just call another spyder dealer, and ask them about it. I am pretty sure they took my vehicle info and ordered the key and it came pre-cut. They flashed it woth another tool or device.

You should be able to give your dealer the number code that should have come with your keys. It came with mine on a rubber tag attached to the keys. With that number they should be able to order you a pre-cut/programmed key. Did you lose that code?

You can't get a key cut by a locksmith that will work. You must have a key from your dealer or BRP with the proper code. The key must be in your ignition and your spyder hooked up to the buds computer and the key programmed to your spyder for it to work.

Not really. She has the BRP blank key. It needs to be cut to work the mechanicals. Separate from that is making the key and the DSS compatible electronically.

I had my new key cut by a locksmith. No problem at all, then took it back to dealer to get the chip working. took me all of 20 minutes from when I picked up the blank key....
Don't know where you are, Sara, but you're welcome to visit Sacramento !

Get new key cut. Take old and new key to dealer and they program them both to your spyder. You need the spyder with you and all keys will be re-programmed. Any old kwy not re-programmed will no longer work.
