I hope you will let us know how that turns out. I had J & M on my wing and loved them. Been thinking about them for my Spyder.

I replaced my front speakers with JBL GTO528's
They are a 2.4ohm speaker and sound great.
I had purchased a set of JBL GTO428's for the rear speakers being lead to believe that they would fit.
The mounting holes do line up but the actual speaker is a good 1/4 to small leaving a rather large gap around the speaker which makes them sound like crap!
I ended up buying a set of J&M speakers, 2.8ohm and I'm quite happy with the sound coming out of my machine!

I am very happy with my JBL GTO 529/429 combination. Was able to install the 529s in front scraping knuckles through a tight gap behind the upper side panels (without removing the dash) Huge difference in sound at any volume

I can tell a difference in the sound between the original equipment BRP ones but not a huge difference. It was well worth changing over and would do it again. It's easy to tell the JBL GTO 528's are a lot better speakers than the originals...

I replaced the OEMs with JBLs on my 13 RTs but was not impressed with improvement considering cost and labor.
Imo the factory stereo just doesn't have enough output to drive the speakers.
I think a 1oo watt or even a 50 watt amp for that matter would be a huge improvement.

Any suggestions as per:
- Where to get the pre-made adapters for the rear speakers?
- Can anyone donate a template (upload a PDF document) or required dimensions for those attempting to make their own.
- @PMK Can you provide further dimensions for the "1/8" Kydex plastic sheet" (links are welcomed!)
- Any suggestion as per what connector size/model are needed to avoid cutting factory terminals/wires (links are welcomed!)?
- Finally, any suggestions as per how to this WITHOUT dissembling of the whole vehicle?
Looking into buying and self install the GTO 529 and GTO 429 pairs.
Thank you to Bob Denman, PMK and everyone making our lives easier while saving some $$$ on these projects, I will see you @Texas Hill Country Spyders in the Hills, Boerne, TX - Oct. 13-15 !!!

The J&Ms were a direct replacement. There was nothing else needed!

."IMHO....My system is "KILLER"....It also has JBL's but not your model's ...... mine are 2 ohm the GTO series ....it makes a HUGH difference. If you are going to this do it RIGHT ... put 5.25" - JBL's in the front and REAR ( you need to make the rear hole 4 5/8 inches not hard ) get either 528's or 508c's.....Total cost for speakers is going to be less than $ 250.00 if you get the 508c's .....look on E-bay for the best deals ....................Mike
