    Default Oil Change Question

I'm going to be attempting my first oil change on my Spyder soon. Do I need to put the bike onto jack stands to do this, or will the garage floor do?? I realize I will have more hand room underneath if it's on stands, so this is really more of a survey as to what other folks do!!!

I would vote for the jack stands, if you have the ability to do it. Also, change out the drain plugs, to hex head, while you're at. You won't be sorry. There are several different types with stronger magnets available, so do search here. Good luck.

I usually put a floor jack at the sweet spot that brings the spyder up fairly level, secure it and drain the oil.
    It's easier that way.

I vote for jack stands and plus one to Big Arm on changing out the drain plugs.

I use car ramps myself, gives lots of room to work with.

I guess I am just out of the norm because I do it just sitting on the floor. Seems to have plenty of room for me. This on my SM5 RSS...

I like to do it on the floor...Works fine I can even nap while the oil drains though I do warm it up a bit for a faster drain...

This how I do it also. To get it level I use a floor jack to bring it up level then slide another ramp under rear wheel. It is easy, and there is still room for napping
