Default F3 1330 oil - WackyDan is back!!!!

    Hey gang.

No... This is not another dreaded oil debate thread. Let me explain.

I've had my 2008 GS now for over several years. She has always been a finicky beast, but I've enjoyed every mile. Now comes the time to put her up for sale and purchase an F3-S.

I've run Amsoil 10w-40 Synth in my GS since switching from Mobile 1 4t. (There was some debate about the Mobil ratings and some slipping clutches - whatever). I have a supply of Amsoil here, probably enough for one oil change.

Here is the question: What oil are you running in your 1330's besides the BRP oil? Can I run the Amsoil 10w-40 in the 1330? Is anyone doing this?

Again... Don't need to start an oil debate in this thread.

You should be fine using the amsoil and if your shy Ron (BajaRon) can get you more....

It is always good to see you Dan. I have used Amsoil 10 40 Motorcycle in my 1330 since the first oil change. 75,000 trouble free miles and counting.

Oh... I never left. I just wasn't as active here due to life in general. Now that I'm getting a new Spyder I'll be asking a lot of questions and contributing knowledge as I build it.

So I will hold onto my Amsoil 10w-40 for the new Spyder instead of letting it go with the GS.

We use Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic in the 1330s. Oil analysis has shown very good oil life and low wear. Much better than the OEM non-synthetic oil.
