    Default Another endless windshield question

For the 2016 F3 LTD of which F4 is NOT available yet, does anyone know if there is a big difference between the stock 2016 LTD shield and the "TALL BOY"? I can't find any info on shield height

I dont know the answer to your question but a quick fix while your waiting for your F4 is to add a x-creen tour to your stock BRP wind shield.

Please note this is only our Opinion so for what it is worth here is what we found.

In our effort to test what works and what doesn't and develop the right shield we tested both the stock and the tall boy shield.
First thing we observed is that with the new dash on the 2016 the windshield is mounted far forward on the motorcycle much more than the older model F3 which makes it more difficult to divert the air around the rider. The stock windshield is open in the bottom and allows a lot of air to push through and between the air pushing through the bottom and the air coming around the windshield the stock breaks up the air but has minimal effect on air management and protection for the rider. In crosswinds which we tested it also we found it was like riding without a shield at all. The shield has a recurve at the top but really had no effect since the shield is small and is far forward on the motorcycle.
When we switched to the tall boy we found that the opening in the lower part of the shield was a little less but still let a significant amount of air through, more than you would want on a cool day or on a rainy day. The height of the shield did help a little more but did not move the air over the rider. The test rider was 6' tall in both examples. The Tall Boy shield is also narrow.
We are well into development and test on our new shield and brackets for the 2016 F3 and I am sure you will all be really satisfied with the results. I can not go into details just yet but we are making great progress.

The included shield is a hair over 8" above the console. The Tall Boy using the same reference point is about 11 1/2" above the same reference point. It's significantly longer than the stock shield but due to the mounting angle you only gain about 3 1/2" in height. The Tall Boy comes with "beefier" mounting brackets. It does not have the curve at the top nor is it vented as pictured in the 2016 catalog.
I noticed a small difference in it's ability to shield the driver.
I have since attached my left over Xcreen Tour to the Tall Boy and am now completely satisfied.

for bothering to reply. I realize you can't give anymore details but since NJ has a limited amount of riding weather days and not knowing if your shield would be available this season, I was looking for something in the interim.

    Default New CalSci windshield

For what it's worth, I have the new CalSci on my 2016 F3T. It works great! I must look through it, but it is quiet behind the windshield, a lot like my friend's Spyder RT Limited. On that bike even with the shield at lowest setting I also need to look through it.

Man, BRP sure made the F3 look like a RT from the front, how sad

Default F4 Customs F3 Touring Shield

We intend to have 3 different heights with tint and clear with and without an adjustable vent. We are very close to releasing information on this as we are testing at this time.

You might also consider adding a tinted shorter height to your current offerings for F3/S's as well - some of us are less than 6' tall and prefer/must be able to see over windshield and with your current shortest shield (28") a 6' tall person barely sees over it.

Default I made my own fairing

Got tired of the BR "buffering". Fabricated a fairing to mount windshields on. I currently have a sport windshield for the summer to allow more air past.

    Default Shorter F3/S

F4 can and would make a shorter shield for the F3/S for anyone that would want one for the same price as the 28". This is a special so you will have to call and order it over the phone but we aim to please.
    Thanks and Ride Safe
