... Hi, I am "Quebecer", so I know a bit about the subject. Mind you, with a point of view from the other side of the fence. Your US cell should work fine, as long as your service provider has an agreement with the Canadian conterpart. I know for a fact that ATT does, since I had to fligh back from Florida last winter for my Mon, and kept using my ATT SIM card that I was using in Florida in my unlocked Iphone.
Deanna, NO tracfone will not work.... tried multiple times with the one bought in the states...that is why I had my Iphone unlocked to use an USA sim card for the winter.... same thing apply here whith some service provider (fido is the one I use) but on a monthly basis. They call it bring your own phone....
As far as calling card are concerned, yes, but it is more and more difficult to find a land phone here too. (of course except hotel rooms )

I use Verizon in Canada all the time. My US based plan is the same in Canada as the US, no extra fees for phone or data.

I was at the first one.
I remember the first Homecoming in Quebec. It was our first long ride. I was just getting started on some of the custom options for my spyder, PE#2518. Here is a video I made of some of the custom bikes while I was there.

Hi Garry Cognaccruiser;
Yes that is also our intensions to do Gaspe plus some of the Maritimes. For that reason we are taking our camper and trailer and leaving it at a camp grounds and tour on the spyder down east. Which way are you traveling as we live just off the trans Canada hwy in eastern Sask.
My E-Mail is ro.lin@sasktel.net.

Hi Roger,
We are going on the Spyder and will be on the T-Can so guess we will be going right past your neck of the woods. We will stay on it through Thunder Bay, The Sault and Sudbury, North Bay, Ottawa and then go west and south of Montreal on 30 and then east on 20 and we are staying at the Best Western in Drummondville.
After, we will head up to 20/132 and follow the coast around to where Quebec and NB meet. I think from there we will stay 132 and back up to the coast just east of Rimouski and start heading back west. I think we will leave home on May 25th or 26th. Depends a little on the weather.

Hi Roger
I don't know if you are interested or not but there is a group ride out to Valcourt being planned. I think it is starting in either Alberta or BC. We are meeting up with them at Powersports Regina on Saturday afternoon May 27. I have a tentative schedule if you are interested. There are at least 2 bikes from Saskatoon area meeting there.

Question on electricity
Any Canadian fellow riders or those who travel to Canada. For cell phone and Go Pro charging, are there special requirements or adapters needed at hotels. Bob I read my spyder Manuel but couldn't find the answer. Lol

If you are wondering if Canada has different shaped plugs/outlets from the U.S. requiring different adapters much like places like NZ and some European countries, the answer is we are the same as the U.S.

The main differences you'll find is the accent, the money, liters instead of gallons, kilometers instead of miles . . . and no guns.

Going to Valcourt
My wife and I will be leaving South Texas on the 17th heading to Valcourt with stops along the way to visit friends and family. We will pass through Austin, around Dallas, Texarkana, Memphis, Jackson, TN, La Grange KY, Detroit and south to Amherstberg, ON., Newcastle ON, Alfred ON, Saint Lazare, QC, and finally at Valcourt. We will be arriving June 1st. After we plan to visit Halifax and ride the Cabot Trail, visit PEI before heading back to Maine and south to Georgia before heading to home.
We estimate about 7000 miles. Depending on circumstances we may make changes to this itenerary.
Anyone traveling this route shout maybe we can meet up.
Does anyone know what vendors are planing to be in Valcourt.
