Default Playing music through Samsung Galaxy

I purchased a 2012 RT Audio & Convenience. I purchased a 3.5mm audio mp3 player input cable. How do I ply music from my Samsung Galaxy?

    Default Dash Mount???

If you are planning on having your phone somewhere around the dash then I recommend getting the VLC app from the google store. Best player app I've used. Plays music or videos. Make sure you have enough memory in the phone to keep plenty of music.

I bought the audio cable that plugs in inside the trunk. The phone stays in the trunk and is supposed to be controlled at the handlebar.

I'm the least likely person to give advice on this .........however my understanding is this BRP cable only supports up to the IV series devices after that you need a different adapter...( which is available - but not from BRP )......I don't know what level the Galaxy is ????... Mike

You can also purchase a Bluetooth receiver and plug into that cable. Works great, better sound quality. Amazon TaoTronics $14 Great deal. You can have your phone wherever you what

I am not sure who told you that a Samsung phone (Android) can be controlled from the dash. That is incorrect. A 2012 RT audio system is compatible with Apple products for control from the dash and handlebar controls. So for your Samsung all you can do is plug it in and listen to whatever it plays. The only control you have is volume and mute.

This is correct and Billy knows his electronics.

The Samsung is the same as if you use an MP3.

Honestly, your better options are an old IPhone with music only an IPod or maybe one of the other Bluetooth ideas others have mentioned. Many have purchased used IPhones or IPods, downside is you will need the other Can Am adapter cable.

why don't you just mount your Samsung to the handlebars so you can control it and then Bluetooth it to your helmet speakers?.

This is correct but just to add... When you plug a Android phone or MP3 player in with the 3.5mm plug, you do get some control. AUX will show on the dash so you won't get much there. But you can play and skip forward or back a song using the handlebar left and right buttons. So you do get some control.

Does that mean that you've resolved your issue? Or do you still have a question?
