    Default Finless Bob, Question

Bob, the front tires that you put on your Spyder are General Altimax, 185/60/R14. In your video you mentioned T-42, I believe. Could they be RT 43? Thank you. Bruce

But they don't make one to fit the 15" rims.

I got the tires mounted and installed (fronts)on the Spyder today. Have not had a chance to try them. I am sure they will work great. Bruce

    Default Speed off?

Bob, when you put the general tires on and different size from original did you notice your speedometer reading different from actual speed and if so how much?
    Thanks

Fronts don't have anything to do with speed, it's read off the rear tire. To make the speedo accurate I use a 215/60/15 tire on the rear.

Nope as highwayman said speed is read from the rear. But be aware that if you change too much you "might" upset the nanny (especially if your rear is different too) so I went with a size/tire that people had used before.

Default Another Tire Question for finless..

Here's another tire question for you, Bob. What do you think of the Yokohama sDrive that you put on the rear about a year ago? You've probably got several thousand miles on it by now, so I'm wondering about your impressions.

Still liking it. I put it on at 13K miles and now have almost 21K. So 8K on it and it is still looking very good! I will probably get 14K total out of it maybe even more.

Since you asked here is a picture of it taken today.

Thanks for the picture. That tire DOES look good for 8000 miles. I like mine too. Mine's got less than half of that, but it still looks brand new, and it runs in the rain just like it was on dry pavement. I'm staying with the Yokohama when this one finally does wear out.

What Size Yokohama sDrive did you put on?

For God So Loved the world...

Started 2014 with a 2013 RT-S SE5. Wrecked it April 2019 with a 200lb hog! I am Blessed because if that was a two wheel motorcycle, DPS said without a shadow of a doubt I would have been dead! Thank you Can-Am! The issue I had with GIECO is they told me not to take anything off the Spyder when I brought it in to their claims center because they paid it out as a total. I just had ELKA put on all around and over $7,000 in Farkle that I am having to replace all that I could have taken off the '13. Bought a 2014 with only 3728 miles! Love it! My therapy!

Finless, I'm looking at replacing my fronts on my 2011 RT with the same Altimax's.
what mileage do you expect to get from them and would you by them again?
    thanks Wes

Well I expect to get a lot more miles on them than I did the stock tires which actually did well (22K and I only replaced them because they went out of balance real bad).
I have only had these new altimax fronts about 2 months now so not a lot of miles on them yet.
I do like them so far.

Thanks Bob, appreciate your response. Going to get my alignment and order a new set of the Altimax's. From what I read about the positive results using rideon balancing / sealer I plan to order that and put in to balance. Looking to change the tires off the rims myself.
Always appreciate your input when I read these posts.

    thanks Wes
