I think there would be enough interest. I know I am. Just need to get it started and get BRP support.
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.

but despite what many tell you I am pretty sure the Air Force is the only US MILITARY service to have a true Special Operations Group by name, actually two I believe. The OTHER Special Operations Group was a division of the CIA that often used the assistance of various service units around the world.
Kalavera hit it on the head with "Studies and Observations Group" as that is what I was referring to. Even during NAM many thought it did mean Special Operations Group as their actual existence, make-up, and mission was classified and few knew the whole story. Further confusion came from the nature of the system and the various intelligence organizations involved.
Lots of stories of their exploits are out there, from ceremonial banquets of Long Pork to huge artillery stolen and mounted on Nasties for midnight raids on Soviet ships up north. As some of the true missions are finally unclassified we will probably find the truth even stranger and more impressive.
Anyway, I doubt that some people would look with favor on using that acronym for a group of civilian riders without regard to the special nature of our ride.
