    Default Here's the thing....

    if you are alphabetically challenged you can simply use the oil recommended by the manufacture who has done the work already and be safe. On the other hand there is a wealth of in formation here to help you pick something else. Just make sure you meet the spec's needed.

    It all boils down to a pretty simple equation.

    998 - Be sure to get MA2 Motorcycle oil of the correct viscosity (pretty much anything between 0w-40 and 15w-40) with no SM rating. MA will work but there are so many good MA2 choices out there, why risk it?

    1330 - Be sure to get at least MA rated motorcycle oil of the correct viscosity ( same as the 998) and you're good to go.

    For most, leaning towards the higher cold viscosity number is a better way to go. Unless you're parking your spyder outside in sub-zero temps. Then the 0w or 5w makes sense.
