    Default '16 RT's

Are the '16 RT's in the showroom yet if so has anyone test rode it yet?

Seeing if the '16 show any improvement with lessening the vibration through the dreaded shake zone.

    thanks

Yup! They're on the showroom floors already!
    (Or they SHOULD be! )
The only big change for 2016 is the addition of the USB hookup for audio sources.
I think that your "Shake Zone" concerns have not been addressed.
A lot of it has to do with how your bike is set up. My 2010 used to get "buzzy", when cruising at 75 mph.
My 2014 has never shown a hint of it... even at speeds exceeding 90 mph.

    "The dreaded shake zone"?
Boy I must be lucky, or brain dead, because the little vibration that occurs from the belt on my 2015 is so minimal that it is not worth talking about. LOVE MY SPYDER!

Now my 1991 Yamaha Venture Royale had a "dreaded shake zone" between 95 and 100 MPH, then it went away as you increased speed. That shake zone was steering head shake or a high speed wobble that would scare you to death the first time you experienced it.

    Default I had the shakes

Prior to the first service mine would shake between 70-75. Told dealer about it at first service and they adjusted things and poof, no more shake.

I have not purchased one yet, but will the belt tensioners from various sellers stop most of the shakes or vibrations ...just curious?

    Default As I see it...

These machines all have the dreaded vibrations/shakes or whaterver you want to call them (they have the longest belts in this industry). There is a lot of ways to correct some of them but most I have found is in the driver. Many of us have come from some really scary old bike that required teeth guards making these very smooth rydes. Many came from chain drives and shaft drives which are smooth rides and if it is the first belt drive you will find the vibrations a bit annoying. You will find that perfect ryde as you learn where that sweet spot is and cruise there. I do little freeway ryding cause it's not my idea of motorcycle ryding ( and I tend to go way to fast) so seldom hit those vibration and have added tensioners and belt adjustments to deal with it... Call it feeling the road, call it a gentle freeway massage and enjoy the ryde....

Last Saturday when I went to pick -up my spyder ( from the dealership, it was in Winter Storage) I did see a 2016 RT Color: Blue.

Also I saw a Black/Red RT and several F3 spyder Models. This was at Land Air in Essex Junction Vermont.

    Hi Dee!
Was it the "Older" blue that they originally put on the RTs; or the color that they started using in 2012?

So.......my '14 did the shake and bake between 3800 up to 4200rpm. Had the belt adjusted at the dealer and put in a Smooth Spyder belt tensioner. While better it still vibrated. I do a lot of highway traveling getting to our destinations covering several hundred miles pet day.

That said I took out a new '15 a year ago, vurtually no shake through the 'zone', ran it up to 90mph, little or no vibration. Almost traded my '14 for that '15, the dealer just wouldn't make the numbers work.

CB, I ride with a GW group.
    XM, don't like adding cables.
Vented windscreen and adjustable side vent.
    Backrest.

    Sweet ride!
