Oil Change kit
Last week I brought my 2014 RT-S home. I also bought an oil change kit just to have on hand. I noticed that the manual says that oil and filter change requires about 5.6 qts of oil. My kit has 7 qts. Anybody know why?

The SE6 kit has 7 quarts. The SM6 kit has 6 quarts. No one knows why and BRP isn't saying...

Is the SM6 kit the same as the SE6 except for the extra qt of oil?

Yes, same kit but for the 1 qt difference.
The trans filter for the SE6 is sold separately and, as everyone knows, needs service every 28k.

you may want to check, there was a bulletin that went out correcting the amount of oil required.
I have a 2015 Rtsm6 and run 4.9 qts. it's full. top of the mark. The extra oil cause crank pressure which in turn had effects on power.. Double check guys.. Maybe Lamont can chime in on this.

I have seen the transmission filter available on your listing. Is there any BRP magic involved in changing this filter ?

I have not done the trans filter change myself. But it appears to be a pretty straight forward job. The filter itself is a 1 piece configuration. Looks to be plug and play. I've sold several and have not heard anything back from the customers. So I assume it was pretty much a no-brainer.
When stuff works I don't always get feedback. When it doesn't work, 100% feedback is the norm. If you know what I mean!

Here in Canada the SM6 and SE6 uses the same oil change kit part# 219800356, it has 6 US quarts. I bought one last week, on the box it says oil change kit 1330 engine, no mention of SM6 or SE6. Jim

Maybe BRP figured it out then. Very interesting.
