    Default Why i have not been around

    well took on a big project that i always wanted what do you think
    This is a 1953 Willys M38A1 U.S ARMY

    That is one sweet restoration. congrats on a great job I rebuild a 46 but for fun in the dunes along the pacific coast of Peru.... yours looks like it came off the line back in 53...

    When I saw the first batch a pictures, I thought, what the hell you going to do with that? Then, I saw the result of your hard work. You definitely are a great restorer of vehicles.

    All the articles I read are just assumptions. The one that makes the most sense is, it was called a general purpose vehicle in the military, which was abbreviated to GP, and then a monosyllable word Geep, and then finally Jeep.

    thanks all for the great words i pay $600 for that one i have 4 of the here LOL i spent about $5000 on parts and about 7 months to get it done ready for my next one LOL this one cost me a bit more LOL

    Question(s):
    Didn't they come with a 24 volt electrical system?
    If so: did you keep it, or convert it to 12 volt?

    (Other Jeeps from back then were running on 6 volts...)

    Yes they come with 24 volt system and of corse i did LOL I have 4 of them now wife says I have to sell one or two LOL
