SpyderRyder membership card
Sooo, I was just wondering if having a SpyderRyder card is actually good for anything or actually has a purpose? Received #52 in Dec of 07 and never got the card, sent numerous emails and get the standard "very sorry we will put in the request email" back. Anywho this is the reply to the request I sent again 2days ago...Subject: RE: Still........

Greetings,
We apologize that this has taken so long for you to receive. We have put in a request for it to be sent to you ASAP. Again we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
Thanks,
Jennifer
Sooo we shall see what happens! Also this is the forum I like to read the most. i see a lot of good and also the bad things that do happen to the minority of Spyder owners and just to put my 2 cents in... I love my spyder! only probs I have experienced alot of others had and I think are fixed 'the peeps at Xtreme Performance in Castle Rock, Co , are great!' I had an overheating problem and they recalled something when I first got it with the brake pressure, other than the squeaky brakes its a blast and I just have fun! sorry for rambling, take care all!
Are ya pickin' up what I'm puttin' down?

The card is essentially useless...just another piece of plastic to carry around with my supermarket card.

Hey... that looks like the same reply I get all the time. I have been an owner since June '08.

Yeah I thought it might have some kind of plus side to it.....just the pricipal of it I guess, they said they would send it, and haven't as of yet, I thought it might give me some kinda discount on accessories or something! I guess it is just a wallet filler!

I got the card a long time ago and I can't find anything I can use it for. It doesn't even work for BRP's web forum. I don't bother to carry it in my wallet.
-
I'm saving mine in case I lose the license plate reflector as a few have. Since the reflector can't be replaced and you have to buy the whole license assembly, I can think of no better use for the owner's card.

Gee, I don't understand why everbody's badmouthing the black card:
I went to the supermarket and handed the cashier my SpyderRyder card and then I got a 15 cents discount off a bag of potato chips. (Of course the cashier did say I also needed to show my supermarket card.)
I went to the bank ATM (drive-up, of course. I like to close my eyes and use the braille on the keys to enter my banking info) and put in the SpyderRyder card. After the money wall ejected it, I put in my ATM card and got out $100.
I went online and ordered a birthday gift for my lovely bride. After I entered the number on the website. Then I entered my credit card number, and purchased the pajamas.
Obviously, the SpyderRyder card enables me to use my other cards effectively.
I went down to my dealer and purchased some more Spyder stickers for old PE#2929 (I still firmly believe that if there is one adhered to every body panel, people will stop pointing and saying "What IS that?!?"), showed him my card, and he discounted my purchase 10%. (To be fair, even when I have forgotten my card, he has discounted my BRP purchases 10%, but I attribute that to excellent customer service and the fact that it's a small town.)
Somebody asked me what my premiere edition number was the other day. Luckily, I had my SpyderRyder card so I was able to look at it and say, "Well, whatever the number is, it must be less than 2,500 'cause there's a big "2.5K" written right there on it. Yup."
And just today, I left my six ice scrapers in the garage but was able to pull out my SpyderRyder card to clean off the truck windshield.
(My daughter just now looked over my shoulder while I was typing and accused me of being a "lying blogger."
She's correct.
We only have four ice scrapers...)

I cannot believe you're joking about the holy grail card that means you're a 'real' Spyder owner! This is a serious matter for many who have not yet received their ice scraper...eh, uh, I mean spyderryder card...

Jeuchler, I'm kind of hijacking this thread, but I just noticed from your signature block that you live in the Berkshires. I have had some really nice motorcycle trips in years gone by in your neck of the woods, and whenever I have, I found myself singing that old James Taylor song, "Sweet Baby James" inside my helmet:
Now the first of December was covered with snow
Yes and so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston
Lord, the Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting
With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go
There is something iconic about your part of the world. The scenery is beautiful and rich in history. I am looking forward to returning to New England at some point in the not too distant future.
Cheers,
Bruce

Director, you and JT are certainly right about this area's beauty. We're at the northern tip of the Berkshires, eight towns away from Stockbridge, spitting distance to Vermont.
Anyhow, we have garage space for your Spyder and a room all ready for you when you come down, Bruce!
(Of course, the ceiling leaks from time to time, but I'll get up on the roof again and get rid of all that ice...Now where'd I put that little black ice scraper I was gonna loan to Don in E Texas...?)

Many thanks for your most hospitable offer! If my wife and I venture that direction, I will let you know, and of course if you come our way, the same goes for you.

Ok Jennifer or whoever answers these messages.
I received my Spyder in Dec of 07 and
STILL haven't received my spyder card. I have sent you all a message
more than once about this, for more than a year now, and as recently as
about 10 days ago. You said if I needed anything to ask well I'm just
asking for the same thing,as usual! By the way this has been an issue in
a lot of Spyder forums and most don't feel to confident in your customer
service at all, my issue is posted as of now in one forum to see what
kind of response's I receive from you.
AGAIN my info.....
