Rumors of my Death Yada-Yada-Yada!
Whatup, Y'all! It seems like it's been ages since I have logged on here. Some of you don't know who I am, some might remember - I was a somewhat early adopter to the Spyder and at one point we were a 2-Spyder householde; me on my infamous Phantom14 and my Wife on her Pearl '10 RSS. But things change, and I went the way of 2 wheels. My Wife, however held fast and kept her RSS. So there is still a Spyder in the stable!
Well, life has thrown yet another curve ball at us, and now she is in a position where she might not ride her Spyder any longer. We tossed the idea of selling it around, but I am not pushing that idea. She doesn't want to because she is still attached to it, and I don't blame her. The thing is still a beauty, in absolutely pristine condition and box stock with 14,400 miles on the ticker. And it runs perfectly. But it's just sitting there not being used, and I don't ride the thing. Well, that was untill a month ago when I had to go get a back tire put on.
Now it had been a LONG time since I had been aboard a Spyder. I did a set of pre-ride checks just make sure it was even rideable. It all checked fine. When I mounted up to get the tire done, I actually had to sit there for a moment while I warmed her up and refamiliarize myself with the machine, where everything was and etc. Once I was all set I hit the road - and I had a blast! I completely forgot how much fun these things were to ride. I got the tire done, and needless to say, I took the long way home.
So the question remains as to whether we will sell it. But that is her call, and I'll give her as much time she needs. In the mean time, I think I'm gonna put this machine in the rotation. Far better to put some miles on and keep it fresh than to let it sit. So I reckon I'm a Spyder rider once again!

It's actually nice to be back on the board. Looks as good as ever! SO, since the cover has been off and I have been riding it again, I caught myself last night already starting to think about mods! You know how it goes...
"Well, you know, I should think about a shock upgrade. I did the sway bar but never did the shocks. And that stock exhaust can should probably go..." The insanity begins all over again! Of course if I actually touch anything on this particular machine at this point I am in BIG trouble, seeins as it's not really mine to mess with! But should my Wife decide she is actually done with it, it's green light city, baby!

Tread cautiously, and don't worry: we'll NEVER tell her what you're up to!
Thanks, brother... I knew I could count on you! Of the two possibilities, number one is always a possibility. However, number 2 is more likely! So I think I will leave well enough alone and just enjoy the ride for now. Besides, I have my own bikes to play with, so I'll just focus on those!
