3,000 miles or 3,100 miles?
In the 2015 Roadster operator's guide page 119 it states that the first maintenance schedule is 5,000 km or 3,000 miles. But in the new 2016 accessories catalog on the back fold-out page is a "recommended periodic maintenance schedule" that states 5,000 km or 3,100 miles. So is BRP now moving more to a new number of miles (3,100 miles)? I wonder what the new 2016 Roadster operator's guide has for the first maintenance. By the way if you convert 5,000 km to miles it is 3,106.856.

Here's the thing....
It's a suggested point and nothing will happen give or take a 100 miles. Do agree they should stick to one or the other. Either keep it round or be exact.....

Do people think if they go over the suggested oil change miles by a 100 or even a 1,000 miles the bike is going to blow up.

One of the MANY topics that we can put into the 'NON-ISSUE' category. I won't dare mention any of the others!

I am not worried about going over the set schedule
More than likely I will be going over the first scheduled mileage. But I was wondering why BRP is not consistent with their information.

We know that. It's just that some of us can't resist giving you a hard time about it! We can, at times, be experts at missing the point!

that BRP should publish one set of numbers so as to avoid confusion.
Sounds like time for a story here.
When we bought Linda's in summer of 2012, (the 998/break-in service at 600 miles), we picked it up on a Friday. Drove it over 750 miles that first weekend. Called about a break-in service appt. on Monday. Was told I cannot get it in for a week or so. When we brought it in, there were almost 2000 miles on the odometer. The was performing well and we currently have almost 25K on it. No issues. You are welcome for the beta test.

Most of the world is set up to use kilometers. Typically when they publish the specs for the US market they convert to the nearest whole thousands just for simplicity. Whoever did the conversion for the 2016 manual was probably a math geek.
