Currently I just dress in normal cloths, a leather jacket, and Frogg Toggs for when it rains. Frogg Toggs are water proof and breath, but don't work well when the rain comes before I'm ready for it.

What do you recommend and why?

Leatherup dot com had some good prices. I was looking on their web site last night.

I ride (my sport bikes) in full race leathers and a full face Sheoi helmet, race boots, and gloves. My skin is worth the money. I got an A* jacket on Craigslist, guy bought it for his girlfriend but she didn't want to ride, so $200 vs $450. The boots were $300, but this was clearance. Gloves were Held gloves that I found on Amazon for $25 instead of $150, the leather pants were clearance at $250 vs $450, and the helmet was on sale, $325 vs $500. I also bought a $600 Schott motorcycle jacket on ebay

If you look on motorcycle closeouts.com, you can often find new gear for less. Also eBay. I bought my husband a $600 Dainese jacket for $275. Check eBay and Craigslist for that Aerostitch gear. Dainese and Alpinestar make some of the best quality leather. Tourmaster makes nice winter coats. TCX are great for boots.

If you can't find it used, it's worth it new. There is a company in CA that makes Kevlar riding suits. I'll go find them.

    You want:
    1) abrasion resistance (leather or Kevlar are best, nylon can melt into your skin when sliding) and
    2) impact protection- arm, back, chest, shoulder, knee and hip, CE level 1 or 2

Bohn makes armored shirts and pants. I also found bohn pants for 1/2 price on Amazon.

This armored shirt is top quality. I have one even though it's men's.

Revzilla in general has the best of everything. Hospital bills and skin grafts are expensive. This is cheap insurance in comparison.

I wonder how that look would hold up to "Helmet Hair"?
