Drag Racing at SpyderFest...
Just perused through the activities list and found a tradition not on the agenda. Drag Racing!
I hope someone will please fix this error. The drags bring lots of people in who would not otherwise attend SpyderFest. Old school or lights, makes no difference. It's about the race.
How many of y'all are disappointed the drags are not official this year as of yet?
Did I tell you I know a not often used feeder road that first started the races???

Drag races at Spyderfest
If they bring back drag racing, be aware that your insurance policy most likely will not cover anything bad that happens. There is a general exemption from insurance coverage for racing. So you might want to check your policy carefully.

I am 100% in your corner Yazz. Funny you should bring this up because the thought has crossed my mind about not attending this year since I'm not in to the whole casino/basket thing, vendor village is nice but you can't spend all your time there, the rides were fun but due to location and traffic that is hard to do anymore. Maybe we need to sneak out to the old road again and relive some memories. I guess you could say the only thing that still brings me is being able see and visit with the great friends we have met because of the Spyder.

It's only "Drag Racing", if the local LEOs get a chance to call it that...
Otherwise; it's just a matter of trying to get somewhere in a hurry!

Joe, where there's a will, there's a way.

Mo Lee, you hit the nail on the head as to why I keep going to SpyderFest. Sometimes it's the only time I get to see y'all. The Spyders did bring us together, but the General Lee is one of a kind!
Maybe we do need to relive some memories...

I'm fairly new to drags too and lose most times. It's just fun racing down the track.

FOUND THE IN THE SPYDERFEST THREAD
OK sorry, I haven't been on here. Work has been totally crazy, plus somehow my notifications quit showing up in my email. Technology does not like me recently.
Update on a couple of things.
Sorry Yazz, no drag racing this year. I will add to the suggestion box for next year.
Found this in the Spyderfest Thread
Also, if someone hasn't registered yet, please do. We are almost at the 777. Actually we have more people registered for SF 2016, than we had same time last year for SF 2015. So we should have pretty darn good party.
This year is also the 90th Anniversary of Rte 66!! So we will be having Route 66 Casino Night!!! It has been reported that "Elvis" will be in attendance for a limited time at Casino Night!!
MoGang will be making sure that you have your wristband to go on the rydes, participate in the byke & light show, meals, games, casino night and auction. So please make sure that you register. On line registrations will be open until April 5, 49.95. On-site registration will be $60.00.
Best Western and LampLighter are booked, but Econo Lodge still has rooms at a great rate.
MoGang met this weekend and worked on finalizing items. We will be able to release names of vendors in a couple of weeks. Make sure to check items out on www.spyderfest.com
Please let me know if you have any questions. If I don't get back to you you can email me at joaniestory@live.com
I guess this makes it official! Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

What would be even better is a drag race that went a quarter mile...............
Just sayin'............
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............

I think that you're 100% correct... I heard a report that she's had so many "practice launches" on the back roads around her, that the Town will have to spend tons of money on re-paving everything in sight!

Rumor has it that the drag strip we used in past years has a test and tune night during Spyderfest. Yazz is going to keep practicing in case anyone ones to challenge her
