Bad day yesterday on the spyder .
Was riding my 2014 rt limited with some friends yesterday . Was running the speed limit(65mph) . All of a sudden the vss came on and the engine light started flashing . I pulled over and stopped the bike turned it off and waited a couple of minutes . Started it back up no idot lights came on. went had lunch . Driving home the same thing happened again . Drove it home as slow as possible . Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on ? I did pull a couple of codes . It has less than 8,000 miles on it . Thanks in advance .

Why would you tell us you pulled a couple of codes, then not tell us what they were, while asking us what went wrong????
Tell us the codes and maybe we can help

Let's see....
VSS (Vehicle stability system) couple of things here. In some occasions it will flash when moving when it is engauged. This is normal and will go away. Could be some manuver you made. If constant with the limp home mode there will be a malfunction indicating its not safe to drive normally. Then it can also have something to do with the seat sensor under the passenger... without the codes its hard to go further....

Were you riding with your right foot on the brake pedal?

Had the same thing happen to my 2011RS, it was a front wheel speed sensor that went bad. Take it to the dealer.

Sorry. Those codes do not exist.
I checked both Spyder Codes and Spyder Help.
PS checked Lamonster Garage. Not listed there as well.

...And that sounds like a foot on a brake pedal; doesn't it?

Similar but no. Pressure in the brake system without the brake light on. That should be impossible.
Still just a guess.

There should never be brake pressure without the brake light on. Brake light comes on first.
When you ride with your foot on the brake and it just puts the light on or if the brake light sticks on. No harm done and no errors. Just can't set the cruise control. But if you put just a little more pressure on the pedal. Now the brake light is still but now there is pressure in the brake system. Now if this goes on for a while. This is judged as something wrong with the brakes as it should. Why would you drive down the road with brakes on.
PS If you have good hearing and a quiet garage. When you press the brake pedal. There are 2 clicks. The first is the brake light switch and the second is the pressure switch.
