Cool RT Brake Pedal Extension Mod

I purchased the BPE1-Brake Pedal Extension for Can-Am Spyder from Refined Cycle .com based on a thread by Mike da BlueKnight911.
    http://refinedcycle.com/BPE1-Brake-P...pyder-BPE1.htm

Installed as below with the intention of being able to apply the brake when my right foot is on the Lamonster NBV Highway Pegs. I wanted the main function to cancel the cruise control with my heel without taking my boot off the highway peg. I can then slow down in traffic and then hit resume to go back up to speed. Secondary would be to skillfully bring the machine to a near or full stop with my heel.

I found the end of the extension was too low to comfortably reach the pedal with my heel. So I added my own longer bolts with two nuts as spacers between the extension and the included pedal as shown.

It works great as to producting a "blip" of the brakes to cancel the cruise control. It works ok to actually bring the bike to a stop using my heel as far as my confidence factor to skillfully do it with my heel. I'm much more comfortable removing my foot from the highway peg back to the stock running board and using the stock/oem part of the pedal.

    Default To each his own...

Though not a RT ryder or fond of floorboards, I still found the RS pedal to far in and having to turn your toe in to get a solid footing. So I to modified the pedal to ryde more comfortably and I have limited use of the right foot as well...

this works for me and you both have nice ones that work for each of you...well done..

Because of the upward turn, i can use my heel to activate the brake and never have to remove my foot from the highway pegs.

IMHO the lack of a handbrake almost makes the use of the highway pegs DANGEROUS... I don't understand why a hand brake is not part of the Spyder design.

Sent with no hands while travelling 106 MPH in the slow lane.

I asked some BRP Reps about this, and they assured me that there are NO plans for them to add a handbrake to the bike...

I just put my refined cycle extension on, but ground my spacers at
an angle so the pedal sits down a little lower and is easier to get your foot on.
the regular pedal is now lower too anyway because you took tha thick pad
off. you can even reach it easier too.--irv

i ended up shortening mine for foot room. the factory pedal is also easier
to reach now because of the rubber pad height.

    That looks interesting!
Question: Are you still able to trip the release feature of the floorboard, with a solid "STOMP!!" on the pedal?
