i have not noticed any big gas mileage with the eco mode but i only have about 650 miles on mine so far, if there is a difference it seems very small. It does however cut your power so it does DO something other than flash a green arrow. It may even lengthen the life of the engine if over 10 years you are running at lower RPMs. I usually have it on but turn it off on occasion when i feel like having the extra pwoer. Like other said i dont pay attention to the arrow i can tell by the sound when its at 3000 which is basically where it wants you to shift in eco mode. One thing i notice about the 1330 vs the 998 is i am shifting more. And i wish they left the electronic frunk button in too.

The eco mode is clearly more than just a green light on the dash. It alters the ignition curves in the ECM in some fashion. Just ride up a steep hill at interstate speeds with and then without the eco mode and the difference in response is dramatic.

Really??
If BRP was so smart a to have 2 ride modes ( ECO and non-ECO) WHY couldn't they have ride modes like a modern motercycle or auto ( comcoft, rain, sport, ect)
As I posted before---- I think the ECO and it's arrow are a distraction. I never use it or would take my eyes off the road for that one or 2 seconds to look for ( it is small ) the arrow. It REALLY is a waste of time.
Enjoy the ryde!!!!
Kaos
PS: HALF a second at 30 mph is 44 feet. Soccer mom cutting into you lane so as not to miss the field while your looking for the arrow and your done.

You can use the ECO mode without looking at the arrow. It basically reduces power so whatever benefits could be gained by that such as fuel and longevity can be affected. To what degree is open to debate i guess. Im not sure why they put the stupid arrow there to begin with. i guess its usefull the first once or twice you use it to see what RPM it wants you to shift at but after that i never looked at it again. The one nice thing is if you use it as the normal mode when you switch out of it you feel like your in turbo mode lol

Could have been useful
eco mode could have been useful if they would have had it automatically upshift, Much like it automatically downshifts for you.

I BELIEVE YOUR RIGHT BOB
I still think the ECO mode is useless and a disraction. And who REALLY? wants less power???

You guys are all screwed up on this and simply don't understand how this works. Shame on you.
It's quite simple really----you accelerate till you hear the ECO ECO eco eco eco and then shift. See there wasn't that easy. Didn't have to take your
eyes off the road either.

Eco mode works just great and you will get better gas mileage. But of course most of you that only ride a tank or two a year have a lot to say about it.
If you ask me I'd say that semi automatic is for those who don't know how to shift!!!!
