    Default Lost seat bolt

Seat bolt fell into rear body hole, wondering if it can get anywhere and cause damage?

    Default The black hole

I think the main issue you'll have is the frustration of getting a new bolt. The only possibility of danger I can imagine would be the bolt getting in the drive belt, but there is no direct path.

I've observed that when things fall into the dark spaces, they seem to go to an alternate universe never to be seen again.

No,no damage,it's just gone. I have a bolt and a nut down there for a year now. Always stuff rages in the space before doing anything.

Bolts and other bits that disappear into the Spyder chassis somewhere magically reappear on the street, at the end of my driveway. I think it is one the other end of the black hole portal. If you want to take a drive to Canada and try it out for yourself, You're invited for a visit.

With all of the bolts and pieces that I've dropped into "the Darkness" over the years; I could probably knit together an entire bike...

...Except none of it has ever showed up anywhere!

(But I DID find a mouse skeleton packed in the mud underneath the engine of my ATV once... )

thanks, I suspected it would not really be able to go anywhere, but thought I would ask. Luckily I had a bolt in the cabinet that was pretty close to the same length and threaded the same so I could use the captured nut.

If you know where it fell or can see it, you might make one of these or something similar and try to get it out.

The old "bolt falls into the black hole" routine. Pretty much all have been there and done that. I don't think you have to worry about it. Next time, you will probably use something to cover the holes before doing it again. Lesson learned.

BTDT...here's what I bought as replacement and work fine
I'd send you one of mine, but for less than $8, you can order a supply

I temporarily inserted a nail and taped up the end till the bolt came in...probably a good idea to find something long enough and slightly smaller for the time being.

    Cool

btw, someone could make a fortune selling a "black hole block kit"...heck, throw in a "reversed rear tire valve stem" and free shipping and they could retire on the proceeds

Remove the rear fender and you'll probably find it sitting on top of the rear wheel cover above the tire.
