Don't they usually go in 3's? Pete Huttlinger who was an outstanding guitar player and musician, died a few weeks ago. He played in John Denver's band. He was only 50 something!

I am one of the lucky ones......
I live in the San Francisco area today, but back then in the Hippy Dippy Days
I lived in the Sun Set District of San Francisco... Side Note: "it is very insulting
to some one from San Francisco to call it FRISCO"
I grew up there and have always loved the city...
ALL the cool bands and artists of the day were there, and would do free concerts in the pan handle
of Golden Gate Park, I saw them all often, there and in the Height Ashbury District.
Steve Miller, Janis Joplin, Sly and the family stone, Jefferson Airplane, ( I had a big crush on
Grace Slick) Carlos Santana, Beau Brummels and the list goes on and on... I remember
hippy buses and vans up and down both sides of the park every day with all the crazy paint
or maybe it was all the pot and or drugs that made them look that way...
boy did I love being right there every day living in the greatest city on earth.

I lived on Lombard street in the 70's--closer to Coit tower--not the twisted turn end. It is an interesting city. Car brakes & suspension took a beating on my 70 Torino What amazed me most was that everyone at Berkley had a dog. North Beach was my fav part of the city....
