    Default LED fender light strips

Installing LED light stripes on fenders of 2012 RT S .My question is anyone use 3M adhesive promoter ? Or will a good cleaning with alcohol be enough for good adhesion ? I have seen directions both ways.

On a smooth painted surface like the fenders; the alcohol cleaning method seems to work just fine.
It's when you mount them on a surface that isn't all that smooth, that the "promoter" starts to strut it's stuff!

Because it is out in the weather (especially in that area) the promoter would help.

Alcohol cleaning has worked good for all my decals. Fyi I find it best to let evaporate dry then apply whatever. If you can apply pressure to what you are sticking down for extended time also helps. Share pics if you can plz

Alcohol may be okay by itself but then my question would be; then why do Tric-LED and Custom Dynamics include 3M promoter with all of their lights?
Use the promoter, better safe than sorry.

As I recall; Reggy's instructions mention using it on the dark plastic pieces on the bikes. For the painted stuff; he supplies some alcohol swabs.
