2009 Spyder GS Phantom
Howdy All,
my wife and I are looking at a 2009 GS Phantom as a second Spyder in The Family.
Are there any particular issues or concerns that You Folks have found?
We LOVE Our 2014 RTS! And now we need another one for Me to drive 'cause Momma loves to drive the RTS!
thanks for Your Time and all the information that You Folks have to offer

No problems....
The thing is they are different beasts. If you can get a test ryde on an RS at your dealer you will see the differences between the engines. If you like the 14 you would have to go to the F3 to keep the same platform.....Personally I love the V Twin but it is an high RPM engine with a 5 speed transmission....

Real different for sure. The seating position is not growing on me. I've spent a lot in the last month trying to make it feel more like an ST.

I have one
My Spyder is a 2008 GS and is
TROUBLE FREE. I have a bunch of
mods on mine. I put Rivco floor boards,
rivco road peg mounts, Madstad windshield,
4.5 inch Heli Bar risers on top of BRP 1in. risers
Motorcycle Dave's custom made Gel seat, all that
made it very much like an ST in sesting position
and handle bar position. zi see no reason at this
time to get a new one, because it does what I
want it to do.
Go for it !!!!!!!

i just jumped the shark and ordered the Revco floorboards and shifter. I'm looking at brake extension peddles now. I'm in this deep, I might as well make it perfect. I still saved a lot of money I could have spent on the ST.

They are not 13's or anything in that they are known to have a bunch of problems. They are great bikes if its the right price but I think if you wind up riding it a lot coming from an RT your not going to like the riding position or the comfort level. Just my opinion since i went from an GS to an RT its a pretty big difference.
