    Default Blacked-out windshield bracket

Needing something to do this winter as the Sypdee has been parked for 8 weeks now. I used the RustOleum Black bed liner paint and now it is setting up to dry.

Remember to put the two rubber bumpers back on that piece before reinstalling it.

Or your windshield will get scratched up

    Default looks good

That looks good. I was thinking about chroming mine, but it don't seem to make to much of a difference in the look since it's behind the windshield IMO. I like this idea and might do the black coat instead.

For a more durable finish I had mine powder coated a "Satin Black" be sure to put screws in the front holes that have threads, let the screw stick out at least a 1/2 inch so that the powder coat gets in all areas, failure to put screws in it before painting or powder coating will result in paint messing up the threads. Also ask the powder coater to pug the 6 holes in the back where the sleeve go or you will have to use emery cloth so the sleeves will go back in.

And don't forget to replace the two rubber bumpers on the front.

That's a very sharp looking job.

    Default SPRAY CAN PAINT

...................Been there done that, what I found that works as far as getting the paint to be about 3 times as hard, is after it dries to the touch......Put it in an oven @ 300 *F for 10 minutes and then turn oven off and just let it cool in there for 15-20 minutes. This works with any spray paint ( except the DIP type ) and makes it very hard......Of course DO NOT DO THIS WITH >>>>PLASTIC PARTS........Mike

Tried once in the 80s to unwarp a record (big black plastic disk for all the kids out there) by putting it in the oven. Would have worked had I remembered that it was in the oven.
