Totally nothing to do with Spyders, kinda
Anyone out in Spyderland fly rc helicopters ? Am specifically looking for enthusiasts for the Blade 200 SRX RTF or equivalent ?. Can"t ride, so might as well fly. HAPPY NEW YEAR

I think DID is the key word, I don't believe that he flies them any more but I bet he'd like to talk about them. He likes to talk.

Mine right out of the box , was wonky, tail motor smoking hot. Waiting for replacement parts. Any suggestions on flying this bad boy ? Done cars, and planes but never a Heli, other than the baby ones with dual rotor blades, which never flew correctly ever. Did have fun tho, so decided a bigger one was better, with the safe mode and ready to fly stuff ??

Yes, have been researching the training pad thingy, but also the training pad table, which I think might work better for a rookie flyer. Any way still waiting for the replacement parts before I can do anything.

I have G.P. Real Flight and the only thing wrong with it is that it has no e-flite helis in it. there is nothing similar to the Blade 200 SRF. You can pick one that is fixed pitch but it will not fly like the Blade. Best thing is you hit the space bar after crashing and it resets and you are ready to crash again. My sugestion would be the Training Aid and do the servo centering and trim flight per the manual. Mine flys great after doing just the servo centering setup, and now has over 100 flights on it.

A simulator and having the exact heli you have in it is not really that important. The simulator even the latest ones still do not fully simulate the exact flight characteristics of a specific heli.
What it does do is teach you the "basic" feel and especially dealing with orientations!
Two things that cause people to crash early on.
1) Over controlling the sticks
2) A loss of orientation! Remember when the heli gets side on or especially nose in, your brain has to adjust to what some consider backward stick movements.
Spend a lot of time on the sim until you can hover and fly around a little without crashing! When you get to that point on the sim, your ready.
I once taught someone with no experience. I forced him to stay on the sim until he could prove to me he could do this without 1 single crash.
After he got there I took him out to the field and set up a buddy box with my heli. He hovered the first time after getting the "new real feel" for the sticks! A few flights later he was able to do controlled slow forward flight. So the sim is in fact a great tool for learning.
