You're right Brian. Last year I did it in two days and I was wiped at the end of each day. Didn't get to my stop until well after sunset.
We should really consider taking three days if possible.

We'll be at SpyderFest 2016.....but we only live across town so we are driving straight through with no lay over! hehehehehe
While I think not having to drive many many miles to get here will be nice....we will miss out on the fun of Spyder riding across the country.....I hope you have a great trip and a great time at SpyderFest 2016!
I am in Duluth, GA and have a 2013 ST-S. No solid plans on whether I will attend Spyderfest or not as I am new to this forum and the spyder. If any other guys are driving up from the Atlanta area I would love to know

You could always take a ride East, and meet up with us for a day's worth of the ride!
If we can get everyone on the same arrival schedule; it's gonna help a lot!
I've got a Single-King room, but wouldn't mind it if a cot was brought in for someone with a Wednesday arrival...

I may take you up on the cot for the 27th. Either that or I will sleep in a chair by the pool
i I was able to get a room the 26th and 28th-31st. Homeless on the 27th unless I go to another hotel for the night.
OK, I have 2 google maps now. One map is a 2 day option with day one everyone meeting in Charleston, WV (Time to there varies) and then doing about 8-10 hours on day 2 to Springfield.
The second map is a 3 day option and I picked Louisville Kentucky as the stop for day two. So the three day option would be day 1 to Morgantown, WV (Time to there varies) and day 2 is about 6-7 hours to Louisville Kentucky, and then about 6-7 hours day 3 to Springfield, MO.
I'm certain there was an interested party from Morgantown earlier and from there it was only 4 inches to Louisville and another four inches to Springfield, according to the map!

Booking.com shows 14 properties around Morgantown (it is a college town as is Louisville)

I will be leaving from the Little Rock Ar. area on that tuesday about 8 A.M. for a presumed 2 P.M. arrival at the hotel. ( i might need a nap after that long ride)

So here is the route I would like to take, fully realizing this may not be feasible for those coming from the Northeastern states. I would like to take I81S though the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest to I64W into West Virginia. I have traveled I76 and I70 many times by vehicle and it is well resourced, but BORING!
Just my opinion. Seems like Bob D has done this a few times so I'm interested to hear his thoughts.
For those wanting to share route suggestions, it's easy to do with Google Maps. Plan the route and simply copy the URL ...like this.

I'm going to try and find a way to do a shareable map of some sort and layout a generic route showing the initial plan. Might be useful for people to see whether or not they could join up. I'll try no plot different waypoints as people post to the thread. I'm hoping some type of google map will work, but if anyone has a different thought on something they have used in the past, please shoot it out here.
You can go to a web site, http://www.ridewithgps.com, and open a free account. I use it all the time to make both Spyder and bicycle routes. It's based on Google Maps. You can share routes and export them for upload into your gps (I use Garmin Basecamp to do that because I'm a slow learner creating routes on Basecamp). OP can sign up for free, download your maps and edit them to suit their needs.
