What was for Christmas dinner?
We delayed our Christmas dinner since my brother's kids arrived in the morning and would only be all about the gifts, and my dad was ill. So I'm fixing ham today and everyone is a lot calmer. We like turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas, and then, of course, black-eyed peas and greens for New Year Day.
I have a friend whose family picks a theme each year and everyone provides dishes to that theme - Italian, Mexican, etc.
What did ya'll serve for Christmas?

We started out with Squash soup. Then moved to the "Big Plate":
Ribs
Vegetable Casserole
Stuffed Mushrooms
A Holiday Roll sweetened with cinnamon
ended-up with Cheesecake
and washed it all down with wine...

my life is boring, i stayed home and had fish and rice from the gas station i buy my dinners at. starting Monday i go on a premium protein shake 4 times a day to start loosing weight for my weight loss surgery. only a couple of tests left to take. so i might have surgery in January or February. i figure it might add a few MPH'S to my bike. i rode a brand new goldwing on Christmas eve, afraid i really liked it

Lobster and crab pasta. I wasn't up for a steak.

Our two kids live in Iowa and Louisiana, and my three brothers and sisters-in-law were suffering from "abandoned Grandparent syndrome" as their kids all have their own families and Christmas Day activities. We four brothers and our wives went to Marie Callendar's for Christmas dinner. Turkey dinner for six of us and ham for two. We then went to my youngest brother's home for gift exchange and dessert and coffee. Enjoyable day it was.
I could hardly believe how busy the restaurant was. We had reservations and still had to wait close to a half-hour.

Stuffed mushrooms and jalapeño, and sweet and sour meatballs were the appetizers. Main course was a 12lb ham I brined and cured for 28 days, and smoked for 12 hrs. Had some mashed potatoes on the smoker also. First time doing smoked taters, and they were great.
Got a 10lb brisket for new years eve... ..

This year it was my turn to cook Christmas Dinner. Mind you, I am NOT A COOK!!
My precious wife always cooks, but this meal was my present to her.
We both had scrumptious 'Marie Callender's Roasted Turkey Breast & Stuffing!!' After all, we are traditionalists!
Umm, Umm GOOD!!

Baby Girl was home as usual. We had our traditional orange cinnamon rolls and coffee. Then open gifts. Had cheese and crackers and peach salsa from Catoctin Mountain Orchard. Dinner was a ham, baked potatoes, roast brussels sprouts, fresh apple sauce from Catoctin Mountain Orchard, crescent rolls and drink of choice. Dessert was your choice of apple pie or pumpkin roll. Later that evening, for me, a shot (or two) of Woodford Reserve Distillers Select bourbon.
