Geez Dreamer, the Basic Training I went thru in the Navy (a few decades ago now) was a whole lot different to that shown on your poster.....
In fact, since there's no sweating blood on the recruits, nor bared canines, facial hair, &/or knuckle dragging callouses evident on the NCO's visible in any of those 'sample pics', none of those shown appear to be like what we went thru back then...
But you do hafta realise that the older I get the better I was!

Hubby went through Navy Basic Training (a few decades ago.) Son went through Navy Basic Training in the early 2000s.

Yep, has completely chancha now. I just retired after 24 yrs in the Army. Cant do hardly any of the stuff you could when i first joind. One of the reasons I knew it was time to go. When we were so worried what was being put on FB instead of taking the fight to the bad guys.
I worked with quite a few of Aus folks on my last deployment to Afghanistan. I was flying these over there.
