    Default Bald eagle

I love in central ohio so I have never seen one unless I was at the zoo. Last month has I was heading south 10 min from my house down state route 33 I saw one fly by. Today on my ride in December I saw a truck stopped in the middle of the road so I stopped and found why they were stopped. I was able to get a couple pictures...good ride today!!20151220_135704.jpg

We have them in our area as well. I have seen two of them this year. It is a wonderful sight to see.

I have seen them near Bridgeport
But I heard that most of them are hard to spot since they got their Bosley Hair transplant

I came around a corner and a truck was pulled to the side of the road watching it in a field. As I came around the truck it took flight and it was very beautiful. I'm glad I was able to get the picture...

The American bald eagle is one of the most impressive birds I know. And it is not only that but stands for so much more....

They regularly take fish from the Pond behind the house. There is a young one that hunts every morning in the pasture behind the pond. We no longer have cats and I fear for the Dog. Last summer one got hold of a large cat fish from the pond and dropped it in the yard. It took several attempts, but it finally got a good grip on that old cat fish and off it went to the nest high in the tree on the Portage river. Several years ago on the far side of the neighbors pond there is a 8 or 10 foot mound (pond diggings) And atop it a pair of consenting adult American Bald Eagles preformed a mating ritual. It is amazing to be able to watch this kind of activity from one's back porch. I applaud all of the efforts it took to clean up our rivers and streams so that our wild life can make a return to there natural environments.

    Default Bald Eagle

We are lucky to see these beautiful birds quite often here in Florida. One day my husband and I were taking a walk in a local park when one swooped down and landed on the ground about fifty feet from us. We froze. This bird glanced at us as if to say "mornin'" and then turned his gaze to the ground under his feet. In a second, he leapt about three feet in the air, landed hard, digging his talons into the ground and plucked a mole out of the earth. He flew away with his breakfast leaving us with our jaws hanging open in awe. This remains one of the coolest things I've ever seen. This Eagle saw the slight movement of the earth a mole makes from the air. Amazing.

Magnificent birds!!!! Now if we could only teach them to avoid the wind farms. Golden and Bald Eagles are getting killed flying through those areas,
also other birds are being killed as well.

There's a spot on the Rondout Reservoir, where they've got some active nests.
A couple of times each Summer, they'll be cruising across our Backyard; just 20 feet off the ground...
    An awesome sigh to see!

I hope to see more this spring. Sounds like I'm late to all the cool story's about these birds. Maybe one day I will see one of those birds with the new hairpieces!

I have seen them already near the area I live in Pa. This summer we rode down to Conawingo Damn in MD and there were 14 of them at the same time. That is what the bird watchers told us. They had binoculars I did not, but I did see 5 or 6 of them, two were really close.
