    Default 590 Garmin

I got the 590 Garmin on my new 2015 RTL. My question is that is says that you can purchase tire sensors that can link up with the 590. Has anyone tried them, and are they worth it?

I tried them. While it was nice to see the pressure, I kept getting "lost connection" messages during the ride. It happened so often that it became annoying...very annoying. I tried new batteries, I tried each sensor on the different tires, and I would still get the error messages. When you get the message, you have to clear it. I suggested to Garmin that they need to allow the end user to disable the lost connection message and/or make the message auto-clear.

That was my experience. Your mileage may vary.

    Default Tire sensors

I have the sensors on my Harley. I don't have them on the Spyder since you can't set up 2 sets. I never have connection problems. The lost connection message will shrink at the top after a bit. I figure a blowout on a 2 wheel bike without steering assist is more catastrophic than on the Spyder. Only connection issue I had was when the GPS was on the Spyder and a buddy was riding my a Harley. The GPS would actually pick up the sensors periodically with him behind me. If I get rid of the Harley, I will move them, and add one, to the Spyder. I like knowing my tire pressure.

Temperature and altitude affect them to much and really render them useless. I have had a dozen of them on cars, and motorcycles.
